FUNDRAISER ANNOUNCEMENT
FROM the ... Mayor of Fredericksburg ... In honor of the late Coach Steve Staker, the Fredericksburg City Council has decided to name our athletic complex after Coach. This tribute to Coach Staker is a small token of appreciation for the love and care that he provided his many student athletes. The sacred grounds where he spent many countless hours making sure that the fields and facilities were in pristine condition will now always have the Staker namesake. The council, along with the Staker family, has approved this monument to be dedicated at the Staker Athletic Complex once the monument is installed. We hope to make a nice area where people can admire this wonderful monument. The City of Fredericksburg is looking forward to working with the newly formed Park and Rec board to improve these facilities and get them into the shape that Coach Staker would be proud of. We are holding a fundraiser to improve the complex and give it the maintenance that is much needed. This will be a facility that will serve our community for many years and will be a big part of the growth and successes of our City and our youth athletes. We are hoping the community will be able to utilize these facilities for many kinds of events in the future. Please consider donating to this much needed cause. Some priorities are the monument, lighting, bleachers, concessions, crows nest, storage, field maintenance and drainage just to name a few. ... Send donations to: City of Fredericksburg, C/O Steve Staker Athletic Complex, P.O. Box 318, Fredericksburg, Iowa 50630 .... If you would like to remain anonymous, we understand but we would like to honor donors by placing donor names on a sign to be placed on the grounds. If you would like your name on the sign, please indicate with your donation! I look forward to the progress and thank you in advance for your donations! ... Jimmy Mitchell
