UTILITIES

The City of Fredericksburg has their own water, sewer, electric, and waste collection utilities.

WASTE COLLECTION

Residential pickup is every Monday & Tuesday. Call City Hall if you are unsure of your garbage pickup day. Please have your garbage set out by 7 am. Your garbage tote needs to be set at the curb (not on the street).

Commercial pickup is on various days during the week. Please contact City Hall for more details.

DUMPSTER RENTAL

Dumpsters that are rented out for cleaning (regular garbage/junk) may be kept for one week unless arrangements are made through the City Clerk's office for a longer period of time. After a week, the dumpster will be automatically picked up by the city. The dumpsters may not be used for normal weekly garbage. Dumpsters used for shingles/construction waste may be kept for two weeks unless arrangements are made through the City Clerk's office for a longer period of time. No regular garbage may be put in the dumpster with shingles and construction waste.

Small (1 1/2 yard)          $50/dump (regular garbage)          $60/dump (shingles & construction waste)

Large (6 yard)               $160/dump (regular garbage)          $185/dump (shingles & construction waste)

GARBAGE TOTE PRICES

Citizens of the City of Fredericksburg are required to purchase their garbage totes. The City will not buy back totes after they have been purchased.

Small (35 gallon) tote: $50 | $12.50/month

Large (65 gallon) tote: $110 | $15.50/month

RECYCLING

The City of Fredericksburg REQUIRES that all residents and businesses of the City recycle.  Recycling pickup is every other Thursday.  The City contracts with Jendro Sanitation for the recycling pickup.  Stop at City Hall to purchase for recycling bin ...you are required to have one of our bins ... that is the clue for Jendro to stop.

All material must be clean & dry to be picked up. Do not put material in plastic bags. All items may be mixed together in the recycling bin except glass, which must be separate.

Metal cans (labels can still be on)

Clear Container Glass (Separated, with lids removed, & next to recycling bin)
Plastic # 1 thru # 5 and # 7 (Look for the recycling arrows and number on the container) Lids must be removed and lids under four inch diameter thrown in the trash

YARD WASTE

The City of Fredericksburg offers a Yard Waste Pickup on the Wednesday before the recycling day starting in the Spring and going until late Fall.  If you wish for your Yard Waste to be picked up, it must be in a Fredericksburg Yard Waste Bag and set out by the curb.  Sticks must be in bundles and also set out by the curb.  Please do not set any of these items in the street.  Yard Waste Bags can be purchased at City Hall,  (Call or Email City Hall to get a calendar if you would like one)
