What's New Fredericksburg 8/24/2017
School has started and finally my lunch hours are back to normal and peaceful!! Please watch out for the little ones on bikes and walking around before and after school. It has been an unbelievable August thus far the weather has been great! As fall approaches and you are cleaning up your yards please remember to mow your grass into your yard not into the streets. When the grass gets in the storm sewer it slows everything down when it rains.
The trail project will be moving fast and furious after Labor Day. While work is being done we will be closing the trail sections at a time. We will keep everyone informed on closing and barricade it as well. We are at the mercy of the paving company on timing so please be patient with us.
We have been making an effort to get neighborhoods cleaned up and keep people mowing lawns. If you have a neighbor that has a nuisance property and it is not being resolved please let us know. Please note that junk cars are not allowed to sit outside, all vehicles must be registered and be moved periodically.
I have met with the county Supervisors this week to talk about water shed and see what we can do to divert or slow down some water coming into town. It was a very productive meeting and I think we are going to work together to get something done about it.
The firemen through a block party and it was AWESOME! Great music, great food by Moody’s Meats and fun and games for all. I know a ton of work went into this and these guys deserve a huge pat on the back! Not only for this but for all they do! Great job guys!
Enjoy the rest of the summer and don’t forget to get out and support your local Cougar teams in the fall sports season!
