PARKS
for all season and for all reasons . . . whether it be hiking or having a picnic or camping we have a PARK for you. 
          There are tennis and basketball courts, baseball and softball diamonds, picinic shelters, a biking and walking trail and a swimming pool.  The specially designed playgrounds are a child's dreams come true.  You can attend a celebration, plan your family reunion or just enjoy the quiet solitude of the PARKS in the City of Fredericksburg.

Brad Niewoehner Memorial Park -- located on Schult Ridge Road -- Playground Equipment, Shelter w/electric, Picnic Tables, Grills, Camping w/water & sewer hookups.  You can access the Plum Creek Bike & Nature Trail (east of the Camping area).

City Park -- Located off of Plum Street -- Playground Equipment, 2 Sheltser w/electric,  Picnic Tables, Grills, Access to Plum Creek Bike & Nature Trail.

Railroad Park -- Located on West Main Street (U.S. Hwy 18) - Shelter & Picnic Tables

Robert Mattke Park -- Located on the west edge of Fredericksburg, along U.S. Hwy 18.  As you are entering Fredericksburg from the west look to the south and you will see the Antique "Flying" Bridge.  A Chinook Helicopter flew in this Bridge from Buchanan County.  This Park offers a Gazebo Shelter w/electric & water with a view of the Plum Creek and the Butterfly Garden.  Parking is available.  From here you can access the Plum Creek Bike & Nature Trail.

Plum Creek Bike & Nature Trail -- Access to the Trail can be made from the Robert Mattke Park or at several other locations throughout the Town.  The Trail offers you a 4.3 mile scenic biking and / or walking Trail.  1.9 miles of this Trail are blacktop.    From the west end, the Trail heads north under the Hwy 18 bridge, winds along Plum Creek to the east into Fredericksburg - the Trail passes through the City Park - then travels to the eastern edge of the City to Prestein Park - under the east bridge on Hwy 18 - to the South by the Old Country School House - District 1, through the Vineyard and back West ending up by the City of Fredericksburg's Swimming Pool (Meinerz Dairyland Swim Pool). 

Prestein Park - On the East of edge of Fredericksburg.  Access to the Plum Creek Bike & Nature Trail.  Parking is available for those wishing to leave their cars there to walk or bike on the Trail.
