FROM THE Mayor of Fredericksburg Iowa

Attention:
Any flood debris that needs picked up from your home will now be by appointment only. Please call city hall to have it picked up. Friday is the dead line. Next week extra bags will not be picked up with regular trash.
In other news we are making headway with the flood and trying to get cleaned up as fast as we can. The trail is going to take some time and some help from others. Please be very careful on the trail. Much of it is damaged. The bridge on the east end of the city park is going to be repaired next week.
If we could put together a group of people with chainsaws and some equipment we could get it done much faster. If you are interested in helping contact me here or through ...

6/20/2017 ... Whats new Fredericksburg?

Pets:
Just a reminder that all pets must be on a leash in the city of Fredericksburg. We have had some events lately that have led to dog bites other being chased on the trail by dogs not restrained. We will be ramping up our enforcement on this and issuing citations for people not obeying the ordinance. This means fines of up to $1000 for multiple infractions. Also if you own a dog in the city limits it must be up to date on rabbi shots! This is part of your responsibility of owning a pet, caring for it and being socially responsible for it. Also the elementary school ground is not a place to have your animals run free, this includes the ball diamonds. Please pick up any feces your animal leaves ...

What’s new Fredericksburg?

You could tell it was Dairy Day week, as I tooled around the town in my golf cart watching everybody mow their grass, get their landscaping just right and washing their vehicles, it shows you the pride people have in their community.  The food stands were all great as always, it is an awesome show of volunteerism during this time. Glen had some great music at the “U” it made for a great afternoon. The entertainment everywhere was great but I couldn’t make it to them all!

It’s...

From the Mayor Shain Kroenecke --

Exciting meeting last night, the city council approved the UTV ordinance, (which mirrors the golf cart ordinance).

We had a great conversation around a First Responder program, I think we will be rolling out a plan soon to try to get more involvement. I am excited to see where this goes, I think last nights discussions were fantastic.

The snow plows did not sell by sealed bid so they will be put for sale.

The city hired a new city Attorney, Beth Becker from Tremaine Becker Law Firm in Sumner.

I am encouraged with the direction the city council is going and I am excited about the future of Fredericksburg!
