October 5, 2009

 

On Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Municipal Hall at 7:00 p.m. the regular meeting of the Council, City             of Fredericksburg, Chickasaw County was held.

Mayor Bryan O’Day in the chair and Council Member Chad Brandenburg, Dale Nelson, Brent Johns, Ron Moody and Ralph Schultz were present.  Employees Present – Bob Schulz, Curt Gruenberg, Ray Armbrecht and Cindy Lantow

·          The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all in attendance.

A motion was made by Nelson and seconded by Schultz to approve the consent agenda as follows -

·          Approve the Agenda as presented

·          Minutes of the September 9 and September 23, 2009 Council Meetings

·          Financial Reports – July and August 2009

·          Summary List of Bills submitted for payment (a complete list of bills can be found at the end of these minutes).

·          Overtime hours for the month of September for – Bob 2 hours; Curt ½ hour

·          Liquor License Renewal for Farmhouse Gathering Room

·          Rent Refund for AmVet Auxiliary Waffle Breakfast

All members present voting aye, motion carried to accept the above Consent Agenda.

Deputy Sheriff Reed Palo presented the September Law Report.  160 contract hours were required

in September with 168 hours worked during the month of September.  There were 2 citations issued. 

Marge Armbrecht was present to request $436 for HVAAA for the 2010 / 2011 budget.  Marge stated that        for 2008/2009 1,658 meals were served with 61 volunteers and 808 volunteer hours worked.  Motion            by Nelson second by Brandenburg to approve this request.  All members present voting aye, motion           carried.

A motion was made by Schultz second by Johns to approve the first payment estimate from Tri-State Coatings   for the work on the water tower in the amount of $42,750.00.  All members present voting aye,    motion carried.

A motion was made by Nelson second by Johns to approve the 2nd payment estimate from Taylor Construction      for the work on the Washington Ave. Bridge in the amount of $105,034.95.  All members present   voting aye, motion carried.

The Storm Sewer work along South Washington was discussed.  It was moved by Johns seconded by Schultz to    put it out for bid and have the bids back to the City Hall by noon on October 15th with the Street   Committee approving the bid.  All members present voting, motion carried.

It was moved by Johns second by Moody to approve sending out a bid sheet for the cement work underneath        the east highway bridge for the Trail.  The Mayor stated that Johns & Schultz could approve the bids   once they were in.  All members present voting aye, motion carried.

A motion was made by Moody second by Nelson to have the Wage & Benefit Committee approve or disapprove       bartender applications that may come in this week.  This would allow the person to be able to work this          weekend.  All members present voting aye, motion carried.

There being no further items requiring council action, it was moved by Johns to adjourn by seconded by Moody at 8:10 p.m.  All members present voting aye, motion carried.

The next regular City Council meeting of the Fredericksburg City Council will be Wednesday, November 2,          2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Fredericksburg City Hall.
